INUTEQ wanted to use phase change materials (PCMs) that would provide body cooling during demanding physical activities around the globe.
As a performance product, it was vital that the chosen PCM was safe in use, requiring no chemical labelling.
The selected PCM was also required to be compatible with encapsulation materials long-term to provide maximum cooling effect, time and time again.

Using our industry leading expertise, we were able to suggest CrodaTherm materials with different melting points so that the cooling vests would perform in many different environments, cooling the wearer to a comfortable temperature, no matter the location.
To meet all specifications set by INUTEQ, we also developed a PCM that could provide temperature control at 15°C, whilst providing other PCMs already on the product range. This allowed INUTEQ to move away from the paraffin PCMs in all their products.
We supported INUTEQ to ensure all CrodaTherm materials were compatible with the encapsulation materials, helped verify longevity of the finished article and advised on how to colour the PCM for different temperatures.
CrodaTherm bio-based wax is the superior choice of PCM, achieving the highest standards of safety, material compatibility and performance.
Unlike paraffin and salt hydrate PCMs, CrodaTherm is bio-based, environmentally benign and does not require flammable or corrosive labelling.
The resulting cooling vest allows the wearer to keep cool for up to 4 hours.
