Passive Cooling with PCM Thermal Mass
$name page content
CrodaTherm™ bio-based PCMs can be used to add very compact and effective thermal mass to thermally lightweight buildings to provide a thermal buffer that reduces the energy demand (and CO2 emissions) of buildings for cooling and heating. The PCM construction product stores cold from low temperature external air during the night, which is then used for cooling during the day. In addition, the heat absorbed during the day can be released for heating later in the afternoon, evening or the following morning depending on the system design and temperature. This system can be entirely passive, needing no electrical input, or can be used in conjunction with a downsized HVAC system, in both cases saving energy and money.
