To Improve Computing Performance in Thin & Light Devices

Electronic devices such as smartphones and thin laptops are passively cooled. This means they do not have an internal fan. This saves space and improves battery life but with a limited ability to dissipate heat, their speed and power is limited. CrodaTherm™ bio-based phase change materials can be applied in these devices to help absorb heat energy during periods of intense use and then release that heat during idle periods. This can increase the amount of time a device will run at high speed before it has to slow down and can reduce the device’s external temperature, so devices feel more comfortable to hold.  

To Improve Battery Performance & Longevity

Battery packs can be sensitive to high and low temperatures impacting efficiency and lifespan. This of significance in consumer electronics, where the ambient temperature may move between extremes, depending on the environment and also during charging. CrodaTherm™ bio-based phase change materials can be applied as a thermal buffer between low and high temperatures in battery packs, stabilising the temperature and improving battery performance.
